Our $3,000 Animation Challenge Is Open

We are excited to launch Motorica Masters, our real time animation competition inviting expert animators to push motion matching to its limits with Motorica tools. Applications are open now. Finalists will be notified November 14, submissions are due November 30, and winners will be announced December 3. The total prize pool is $3,000.

What we are looking for is an expressive, gameplay ready motion system that demonstrates movement quality, control, and creative distinction. Entries must be built with Motorica and submitted as a short real time sequence, up to 30 seconds, along with a brief workflow breakdown, and an Unreal project file.

We are honored to have veteran director and animation leader Harvey Newman judging this year’s competition. Evaluation will focus on creative distinction, technical use of Motorica, execution and control, and overall innovation.

As a post competition spotlight, our own Kelechi Apakama will sit down with the winner in December for a deep dive interview covering approach, techniques, and lessons learned, so the community can benefit from what you build.
